Safety

Safety & reliability

it’s the first thing on our mind Hyundai continues to set the safety standard of intelligent driving with greater rigidity and
cutting-edge technology of All-new Tucson that ensures our promise for your safe journey.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW).

AEB works in conjunction with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system to automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes in the case of a potential collision (where no driver intervention is detected after a FCW system warning).

Driver assistance technology.

Sophisticated rear sonar’s facilitate the Blind Spot Detection (BSD) system’s monitoring of the areas next to and diagonally behind Tucson when travelling at speeds above 30 km/h. When a vehicle enters this blind spot, BSD issues a visual alert in the corresponding side mirror. If the driver proceeds to initiate the turn signal, a flashing visual warning is provided accompanied with an audible alert.

Lane Change Assist (LCA).

LCA helps to reduce accidents that are the result of changing lanes in front of faster travelling vehicles. LCA scans the road behind Tucson for vehicles approaching rapidly from the rear, and if a vehicle is detected travelling at a higher rate of speed, LCA will apply the same BSD warning measures to alert the driver of a potentially hazardous situation.

Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The system will assist by applying steering input to help keep the vehicle between the lane markings. It’s designed to prevent those moments when a lapse of concentration can cause the vehicle to stray outside the lane. When the vehicle strays from the intended lane without indicators being activated, an audible and visual warning will be sounded.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) monitors vehicles approaching from the left and right side of the vehicle when reversing at speeds below 10 km/h. RCTA is particularly helpful when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces in crowded places where vision is limited, such as supermarkets, apartment buildings and parking lots. If a vehicle is detected, the driver is alerted audibly and visually with an alert (flash) appearing in the corresponding mirror and a warning message in the cluster.

Traction control system (TCS)

The Traction control system (TCS) continuously monitors the amount of acceleration from the driver and road surface conditions. If the system finds wheels spinning with no traction, it adjusts the acceleration and traction so that the vehicle can move forward normally.

Vehicle stability management (VSM)

Whether you’re on wet or slippery roads, Vehicle stability management (VSM) helps you drive with extra confidence, ensuring stability through co-operative control between Electronic stability control (ESC) and Motor driven power-steering (MDPS).

Down-hill brake control (DBC) and Hill-start assist control (HAC)

Designed to tackle any hills with automatic brake force for a steep downhill and automatically initiated brakes to prevent dangerous roll-back, All-new Tucson can inspire a real sense of adventure.

Advanced high strength steel (AHSS)

Ensuring the best-in-class skeletal rigidity of the body, the All-new Tucson design is reinforced through the expanded use of Advanced high strength steel (AHSS) and hot-stamping process.

Active headrest

An active headrest system considers the size and weight of the driver and passengers to move headrests in a way that minimizes the threat of injury.

6-airbag system

The 6-airbag system comprises dual front airbags, two side impact airbags at the front, and two curtain airbags running lengthways on both sides.

Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS)

The tire pressure monitoring system intelligently indicates exactly which tire is low on air.

Electronic parking brake (EPB)

Saves on interior space and provides higher convenience to activating parking brake with a state-of-the-art switch design.
